Since last May, the employees of the SASB department in the city of Beira who work at the wastewater treatment plant (ETAR) have been safely protected against the COVID-19 virus. They received clothing, masks, gloves and disinfectants from Daviz Simango, the mayor of Beira.
Safety and Hygiene
Working at a wastewater treatment site or in sewage systems requires full attention to safety and hygiene. This topic was indicated as a priority by Moises Chenene, Director of SASB. Hence, at the end of 2019, we started sharing knowledge and experiences between DWA and SASB colleagues.
The COVID-19 crisis caused an urgency to give specific attention to protective personal equipment for the SASB employees working at the ETAR and the sewage system of the city.
