Our Partners

Our regional partners are key to our work. In the Blue Deal Mozambique partnership, we rely on the support of organisations working on water management. In our cross-cutting actions, we involve a sanitation and drainage organisation in the city of Beira. Together, these partners are implementing activities to provide the Mozambican population with access to clean, safe and sufficient water and to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The Southern Regional Water Authority (ARA SUL,IP), carries out activities related to water allocation and flood and drought risk management.

As part of the partnership, ARA Sul is developing groundwater monitoring models, improving the management and operation of dike systems, and running licensing and enforcement campaigns for water users and wastewater discharges.

The Central Regional Water Authority (ARA Centro,IP) carries out activities related to water availability by developing nature-based solutions for storing water.

The partnership also aims to improve water quality through training, certification of a water quality laboratory and licensing and enforcement. of wastewater discharge.

The Northern Regional Water Authority (ARA Norte, IP) leads activities to improve the planning and management control of ARAs by developing strategic and operational plans, introducing analytical accounting and developing management indicators.

The activities carried out by this partner are aimed at ensuring its financial sustainability in the long term.

The National Directorate of Water Resources Management (DNGRH) is the strategic partner for coordinating and implementing the Blue Deal programme in Mozambique.

The organisation is helping to define the strategies needed to improve integrated water resources management in Mozambique, together with the ARAs and the Dutch Water Authorities.

The Beira Autonomous Sanitation Unit (SASB) supports the Municipality of Beira in managing the city's drainage and sanitation system. The Blue Deal partnership shares best practices in the management and operation of the drainage system.

Working with other organisations and programmes, our partnership aims to strengthen this organisation to better respond to the growing challenges of climate change.
